Work life balance

Remote working is, for the vast majority of us, ‘working from home’ and has become a fact of life. Since the UK Government’s ‘Flexible Working Regulations’ 2002 came into force, many companies have embraced the concept with open arms. Industry giants such as Lloyds Bank, IBM, GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever, ASDA and BP - to name but a few - acknowledge that remote working has worked well for both employer and employee. On the one hand, staff can clearly gain from a better work life balance; while the company has an opportunity to cut the cost of office overheads and reduce ‘dead’ travel time. Why shouldn't smaller companies benefit from the same technology?
